Wendy's hallmark square hamburgers and homey atmosphere were introduced in Columbus, Ohio, in 1969, and since that time the company has enjoyed phenomenal growth.

Wendy's International, Inc. is the operator, developer, and franchiser of the Wendy's restaurant chain, which is the number three hamburger chain in the United States, trailing McDonald's and Burger King. At the end of 2001, there were more than 6,000 Wendy's restaurants around the world; about 5,300 of these were located in the United States with the balance located in 26 other countries and territories.




Wendy's Chili

2 pounds ground beef -- browned and drained
29 ounces tomato sauce
29 ounces kidney beans -- undrained
29 ounces pinto beans -- undrained
1 medium onion -- diced
4 ounces chopped green chiles -- optional for Tom
1/4 cup diced celery
3 medium tomatoes -- chopped
2 teaspoons cumin powder
3 tablespoons chili powder
1 1/2 teaspoons fresh ground black pepper
2 teaspoons salt
2 cups water

Combine all ingredients in Dutch oven; bring to a simmer over low heat. Cook, stirring every 15 minutes, for 2 to 3 hours.

  1. You have to include the part where the ground beef sits in its own grease for a good 2-3 hours in a drawer before being made into chili. That's the key (and also why I refuse to eat their chili)
