Wendy's hallmark square hamburgers and homey atmosphere were introduced in Columbus, Ohio, in 1969, and since that time the company has enjoyed phenomenal growth.

Wendy's International, Inc. is the operator, developer, and franchiser of the Wendy's restaurant chain, which is the number three hamburger chain in the United States, trailing McDonald's and Burger King. At the end of 2001, there were more than 6,000 Wendy's restaurants around the world; about 5,300 of these were located in the United States with the balance located in 26 other countries and territories.




New Menu Items at Wendy's Restaurants

Wendy's is launching a new line of premium salads after testing the menu items in several different markets. The upscale salads are:
  • Apple Pecan Chicken - A blend of 9 types of flied greens topped with crumbled blue cheese, apple pieces, roasted pecans, dried cranberries and grilled chicken. With a pomegranate vinaigrette dressing
  • Baja - A new blend of lettuce and greens topped with cheddar and pepper jack cheeses, guacamole, pico de gallo, tortilla chips and Wendy's chili. The dressing is creamy red jalapeno.
  • BLT Cobb Features smoked bacon, blue cheese crumbles, tomatoes, chopped hard boiled eggs and grilled chicken with a creamy avocado ranch dressing.
  • Spicy Chicken Caesar - Romain lettuce topped with grape tomatoes, shaved asiago cheese, seasoned croutons and Wendy's spicy chicken with a lemon garlic Caesar dressing.

Wendy's has been the restaurant leader of quick serve salads since 1979 when the chain launched the Garden Spot Salad Bar.

  • BBQ Bacon Crispy Chicken Deluxe Sandwich - A white meat chicken patty with bacon, American cheese,honey BBQ sauce, lettuce and tomato.
  • BBQ Bacon Double Jr. Cheeseburger Deluxe - 2 hamburger patties, American cheese, Bacon, Onion rings, pickles, Honey BBQ sauce, ketchup, mayonnaise, mustard, lettuce.
