Wendy's hallmark square hamburgers and homey atmosphere were introduced in Columbus, Ohio, in 1969, and since that time the company has enjoyed phenomenal growth.

Wendy's International, Inc. is the operator, developer, and franchiser of the Wendy's restaurant chain, which is the number three hamburger chain in the United States, trailing McDonald's and Burger King. At the end of 2001, there were more than 6,000 Wendy's restaurants around the world; about 5,300 of these were located in the United States with the balance located in 26 other countries and territories.

Frosty Variations

To make the Frosty Shakes at home just add more milk the the original Frosty and squirt in the ice cream flavoring of your choice, top with whipped cream and a drizzle of more flavoring.  (See sidebar for recipe.) The Frosty Shakes come in Chocolate Fudge, Vanilla Bean, and Strawberry, Caramel Apple, Wild Berry flavors.

Wendy's vanilla Frosty meets your favorite ice cold soda in this dessert. Flavors available are Coke, Root Beer, Dr. Pepper, Orange and Sprite.
The Twisted Frosty was a limited time offer that was just like McDonalds McFlurry with your choice of  Oreos, M&M, Coffe Toffee or Cookie Dough blended into the ice cream. Cut your desired candy or cookie treat into small pieces and blend it into a vanilla Frosty. You have to make these at home because this item on the menu is discontinued.
